[ Re ]
Re-[ ] is an exploration of the fluid expression of its subject: photography. Derived from the Latin term “again,” the prefix re-challenges the form of photography to re-[produce] via insurgency of its temporal quality. Its synchronicity of the past and the present indicates a forward-and-backward movement of time leading to new imageries that are reciprocated by history.
The prefix re- also stands for “a re-[turn] to its previous order.” The makers are necessitated to introspect its object’s re-[ferent]. It is to explore the possibilities of re-[shaping] of space through cross-examination between the self and the object. The dialogue between self and object is the bridge that will give the non-material a new context and purpose. Lastly, re- is by way of starting “anew.” It is an act of putting the bygone back to life or re-[birth]. This is a process of materialization. These derivatives, though the foundation is based on the previous objects, are created with newborn and pre-existing peculiarities.

In the age of re-[production], the uniqueness does not solely rely on its principal genesis, but within its formation of new shapes not totally devoid of its original context and purpose. Thought the re-[produced] objects are created within the foundation of its pre-existing matter, because there are no objects created within a vacuum, the re-[produced stands within its new vastness of space and time. It forcefully seeks the makers to manipulate its characteristic of materiality and somehow re-[veal] and re-[pair] its non-material impairment.
The makers are challenged to give new life to the ubiquitous and archetypal origins of their interest. Reading and re-[reading] these meaningful coincidences will justify the nature of photography.
